Message Indicator

For some months now whenever I log on the tool bar at the top of the page beginning HOME indicates I have 2 messages.

But these have been read and dealt with many moons ago.

Although not urgent I would like to rectify the situation but so far have not found a way of doing so.

Can you help in some way please?
