You've never heard a fully-grown hedgelouse (up to 18 inches) snuffling about in the vegetation before?  :goggleeyes: Shy creatures, often heard but rarely seen.

Called possums here and you don't want one of them in your roof. Have to take half the roof off to get rid of it.  >:(

:D I was only 4 or 5 at the time!!!
Oh, I'm well familiar with hedgehogs. Used to put saucers of bread and milk out for them in later years. They were the subject of one of my first ever electronics projects too. A broken light beam to trigger my camera.....
