Ah yes, apologies for not keeping you guys up to date this last week, but as the old fella has been on here himself you all know he is on the mend.  In fact he even found the strength to call me this morning and he sounds even better than when we spoke earlier in the week and I doubt it will be too long before we are blessed with his usual with and charm again.
Apologies for not posting previously chaps and chapesses  :-[

Great news Mick and I hope your eyesight improves soon .We don't want you changing to 0 gauge and leaving us ,without your wit the Forum just wouldn't be the same .
Just rest and take it easy for now.

Terrific news Mick! Thrilled to have you back on board :) If your cat is like mine, you are in some serious trouble for being away so long and have likely heard nothing but MEOW MEOW MEOW since you got home ;)

Lawrence, thank you so much for all of your updates and info about Mick and your help in facilitating a care package for Mick :) I am sorry to hear you have been under the weather as well. You could've said something! Here we all were worried about Mick with the nurses and you're stuck at home! ;) In all seriousness, I do wish you a speedy recovery :)

Welcome back Mick. Good to see you on here again. Not missed a lot apart from your own wit. 8)
Another house move despite "never again" has given me a second floor layout so Geominster Mainline & Heritage Line will be modified and enlarged with siding storage.

My Facebook Diary is Geominster if anyone wants to view it please ask, it is a private group requiring acceptance, thanks.

This then is my third version modified which has been improved from previous efforts and lessons learned.

Geominster was my first project which has now been dismantled. Having learnt so much from  previous Geominster projects this is the latest one.

Latest Youtube video is here.

Glad to have you back bashing the keyboard. What's this about "normal service"? Is there anyone normal here? :laugh3:
You know you're getting older when your mind makes commitments your body can't meet.

The latest update on this continuing saga ()

I was at Blackpool hospital today to see the heart surgeon. Before my appointment I had chest XRay, ECG and blood pressure tests. Blood pressure was higher than I would have liked but I do suffer from 'white coat' syndrome (and I don't mean lunatic asylums). The surgeon said everything was fine, that I was doing very well and that he had no need to see me again. I told him I have pains in my sternum and that when I cough or sneeze I get a pain in the right hand side of my chest. He repeated that more than one nurse had bounced on my chest during the operation in order to get my heart going again and that I was probably just getting cartilage pains.
I thanked him and told him that in the nicest possible way I didn't want to see him again either but that, if push came to shove, he would be my preferred option. I also discovered from him that the implanted 'black box' (correct name is I.C.D. = implantable cardioverter-defibrillator) is the latest model and costs £20,000 so I am surprised they fitted one really as it's worth more than I am!
I then had the hilarious thought that, as the device contains batteries, when I kick the bucket and am cremated, unless it is removed before the cremation I could actually explode (not that I would care at that point), thus causing those at the service to say they had a blast :smiley-laughing: :dighole:

The next major hurdle for me is an appointment with the 'black box' experts on the 26th May where I will need to establish how long the power pack lasts i.e. how frequently they'll have to open me up to put new batteries in it, and also discuss this damned 6 months no driving which, strictly speaking, ends on 2nd August.

Maybe I should have chosen a less drastic way to give up the fags, after all ::)

All good news, Mick. I hope the crematorium is well insured  :D
