Time for our annual Super Bowl thread :claphappy:

Which team would you like to see win?

My team is in the playoffs :claphappy:

Panthers  :claphappy: . I'd like to see them meet the Broncos or the Chiefs in the Superbowl, if only because that means someone (KC?) has beaten the New England Cheetahs  already

Being a 'Cheesehead' I'm glad to see the Green Bay Packers are still in with a shout and hope they win their play off game on Sunday

Go the Sea Hawks!

Having spent a significant portion of my life in Vancouver, my choice of team is easy.

Well the Lions are already out following a terrible early season - here's hoping they can keep hold of Megatron.

In the NFC you'd have to think it will go with the seeds so Championship game of Panthers-Cardinals though Seahawks could pull off a shock.  In AFC Steelers could pull off win against Broncos if Big Ben is fit enough. Guess championship game against Pats.

Jon898

Well, the Seahawks almost pulled off a shock  :o after being down 31-0 at halftime.

Now it's down to a re-run of the Manning-Brady saga and the Cardinals at the Panthers

I just hope the Broncos beat the Cheetahs (maybe New England will underinflate at Foxboro and not realise they will re-inflate by themselves at Denver so Brady's hands won't be able to grip them properly  :smiley-laughing: ).

Newportnobby

Damn & Blast. The Packers were beaten in overtime by the Cardinals :veryangry: :'(

Pengi

Damn and blast for me too :veryangry:  :'( KC had opportunities to beat the Patriots but a great season nevertheless for the Chiefs.

I will be cheering for the Cardinals now - so that has put the mockers on them winning ;)

I was hoping Big Ben could pull it off against the Broncos, and Russell Wilson had a great second half for the Seahawks against the Panthers. Just such a shame the Panthers blew them away in the first half.

The Panthers and Cardinals are both playing well - tough one to call, but I'd probably go for the Panthers.

Pats v Broncos - probably the Pats. Manning wasn't particularly convincing against the Steelers.

LAandNQFan

Some brilliant throws by Rodgers but why did they trust to the coin-toss? If they had gone for the two-pointer when the Cardinals were rattled by that Hail-Mary......  :'( :'( :'(
Perhaps the proof that there is intelligent life in outer space is that they haven't contacted us.

Superbowl L should be an interesting match-up of the new QB (Newton) against the old QB (Manning).  With Manning's expertise in the hurry-up offense and the Panthers' tendency to threaten to squander a half-time lead, it could be a nail biter to the end.

Newton was impressive against the Cardinals and was helped by a ton of turnovers  :claphappy: . Manning was looking like he was still able to perform, and best of all he beat the Cheaters  :beers:

I thought Manning was poor and only saved by a good Denver defence. When you see the old guard of Brady/Manning vs the new of Newton/Wilson you see how the role of the QB is evolving from passer-strategist to all round threat. Both Wilson and Newton have great running games which threatens in attack and allows them to get out of trouble.

I can't see past the Panthers in the final the way they are steamrollering everyone.

The missed extra point by Gostkowski ended up having a bearing on the outcome.

Definitely - I hadn't realised that he had such an outstanding record (something like 500+ consecutive kicks) - what a time to miss!

But not quite a defining moment as Walsh missing the FG for Minnesota earlier in the playoffs - poor guy got death threats from fans :(
