I have Win 11 on my main PC and a laptop with Win 10 as not compatible for Win 11 (apparently you can work round that).
Have to say I am happy with Win 11 but the change was jarring - like many first thing was to turn off anything Ai and have managed to ditch 'Clippy 2.0'.

That said turning off Ai everywhere I can, when they give the option, is the first thing I do. Frustrates the heck out of me that 'they' think they know what I want where all I actually want is a choice ON or OFF - It cannot be that difficult to understand to designers... can it?

A couple of things..

Firstly another instance of lying by Royal Mail. I was told my parcel from the NGS was to be delivered Sat between 10.35 and 13.35. Needless to say- nothing

I'm so fed up with the bombardment of mails from Rails of Sheffield. It wouldn't be so bad if they asked my preferred gauge. I could unsubscribe but something may get missed so I guess I'll have to put up with it

Have to agree, 2 or 3 a day of which I have zero interest in at least 95% of it. It can't be that hard to be able to add scale preference.

Designers that do this do not think about what "you" want. They only think about what "they" want. They just want to show off how clever "they" are. Just my POV.

Hopefully we will reach "Peak AI" quite soon - when the bubble bursts if not before. Especially as the whole AI cost model appears broken. Ther appears now to be deperation in trying to monetise and justify the server farm and power station investments.  Interesting comment from Ian Hislop editor of Private Eye - one reason for not having an online version of said magazine and only providing on paper is that it blocks the AI harvesting bots from harvesting their material....

Anyway there is hope yet that rationality (and financial logic) will win out and a lot of these annoying attemots to ram AI down our throats will disappear back to whence they came...

Probably programmed up by some spotty kid in his Mum and Dads basement who doesn't really understand his client's target market - these "Social Marketers" generally need reigning in by their clients - but first off the client needs to realise what is going on....

Reminds me of the Gartner Hype map, I think we are at the peak of expectation, next will be the trough of disappointment, and if you have it right, followed by the general growth of real business.

We used to have a couple of the d**n things but once or twice a month they would start screeching for no apparent reason. Not only was it annoying for us but our dogs absolutely hated the noise and would become quivering wrecks for a couple of hours. On top of that, the latest ones had a permanent battery which was supposed to last for several years but they never did.

It occurred to me that alarms must be made for deaf people with, frinstance, a flashing light instead of a siren. I think I need to investigate those.

Mine has a flashing light as well.
2 x 9v batteries ain't cheap unless you buy them in packs

We have 6 of the things including 2 that also (supposedly) alarm on CO.  They're all connected together, so if one goes off they all go off.  I'd like to know what technology they're using that ensures it's always between 1am and 3am  .

Ours are driven from mains power, which is backed-up from a generator, so the battery is never used, so the batteries probably last longer than the life of the radioactive source.  When that reaches end-of-life as far as I can tell it does not tell you 

The whole thing reminds me of the acronym "CATNAP" - Cheapest Available Technology Narrowly Avoiding Prosecution.
