Ifteresting Roy. Any pics per chance? I wonder what kind of boxes they came in, if they were the standard Farish boxes of the time.

Ah yes, I do recall seeing those Blue Pullmans.

Someone forgot to tell them that their platforms are too low! I wonder if their 158's have foldable stairs that extend out - it's hard to make out from the video.

Otherwise they be giants!

If I recall correctly I think they may have also done a Dutch 08 (Not Civil Engineering - NS Livery)- another rarity.

Long time since the last post, but for what its worth, here is a Dutch 08:

Also, one of the very few (<10?) 47378s that made it out into the wild:

And finally, two I have little info on - does anyone have anything on the provenance of these:

First an 08:

And secondly, a class 37 - fairly common petroleum sector livery, but I've never ever seen it with this number - normally 37887. [I do have the chassis for this, but currently being repaired to original condition and working order]

Both of these are factory finish - anyone who knows anything on them I'd be interested to hear!

Best,
Alan

There was a J94 in Longmoor Military Railway blue, split from a set I think, in the showcase at Frizinghall for ages. Always thought about it but never acted, now gone and never seen one again.

ive got one but it now has a khaki hue!

I have the other 4 NS Farish 08s..

Also have two of the NS Khaki J94s.

I think the 37889 is legititmate, not sure about the Swedish SJ (Statens Järnvägar) though.

Sorry for the poor pics - used my phone... I will sort some better ones out.

I have the Red stripe 20 215 Came up on eBay as a bin boxed vgc I paid £50 for it .

I seem to recall a picture of the red stripe 20 in the Farish advertising numbered 20137. I never subsequently saw an actual model, suggesting this never made it to production with this number.

Thanks - cleary then there were a number of Dutch 08s over the years?

Thanks also for thoughts on 37889 and 08 - anyone know if Farish dabbled in the Swedish market? Have you any feeling if 37889 was an early release or a late one (given that Farish did go round and change the numbers of various models in the 1990s including 20142 to 20139, 25326 to 252xx (I forget!) and 37699 to 37696).

Cheers,

This is the infamous un-found 20 - it's never been shown or proven to have existed. 20215 had something like 300-500 produced, so is fairly rare. To me it was a much nicer execution of this livery than Bachmann did on the old tooling with their 20227. Only the new tool Bachmann model is superior in terms of colours IMHO.

20137 does exist, i met a chap a few years ago who had a full farish collection and he had a 20137 in railfreight with the box code 8208. He told me however there are a lot of fakes out there especially on 47378 which to a certain extent keeps the price keen because you cant always tell the difference, the same goes with 20215/137 although since farish brought out 20227 and 20132.

Interesting!

I've seen a repainted 20137, nicely done, but clearly not a factory finish. My 47 is definitely factory, and one that's just been normally used unlike the others I've seen, meaning it wasn't expensive. The other confuser is that Minitrix also did a 47 in the same livery, same number.

Alan

I very much doubt it's "not real" if you've got the correct box, which you have and from the limited view from the photograph, it looks legit. I have a couple of them and they're clearly legit - I imagine yours is too, so don't worry  8)
