Oh! What wonderful banter between friends!!! :NGaugersRule:

...or we find something good to watch  on the telly.
I don't understand...
MODERATOR!   Mr Austin just used the words 'good' and 'telly' in the same paragraph! Is that allowed on this forum then?
"When in trouble, when in doubt, run (trains) in circles..." etc.
There, doesn't that feel better?
Lovely!

Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

Can some one explain to me the word Telly?

It's that glass box in the corner of your living room, Geoff.
I've no idea what all this rambling is about but I thought I'd join in.

The 'what' of it is easy enough, but the 'why' of it, well, no, not really...
But then, OK, I'll say no more coz I ain't got one. I reached a point many years ago when I realised I was spending way too much time gazing into a silly screen and decided to get rid of the telly and get a computer - no more gazing into... Uh, hang on a minute... OK look, I'll get back to you.....

:) Hehee !
I think we are all refugees trying to get away from telly trivia.

Although, she did alert me to "Sheds" last night, which contained two of my fav persuits, model railways and astronomical telescopes, except neither of mine are in sheds - yet ;)

Oh... My... God... Splod. Buy another TV and this time turn it on before you gaze into the screen... You might be pleasantly surprised. (But probably not!!!)

Our has a white dot in the centre of the screen when you turn it off, and you have to wait half an hour for it to come on in that time I am fed up and gone upstairs to my railway.  :D

Is that an analogue dot or a pixel Geoff. If you've got a dodgy pixie (sorry pixel) you should consult with the elves and fairies to get it fixed...
You can fix analogue dots by a little blob of dark coloured ballast over the blob!!
Hope you find this fix useful.. Just going to get another glass of vino. Oh sugar!! - bottle is empty.

Ah, I remember those - wipes tear of nostalgia from eye, , ,

My TVs seem to be growing in size in inverse proportion to my ability to see them !
And also in inverse proportion to the stuff worth watching :(
