i saw in another topic about creating railtour trains, and today at work i saw an empty rake of WCR coaches go past, must of been about 12 coaches all in maroon WCR livery.

i fancy making a train where its just WCR stock, no pullmans etc just the maroon stock.

what stock would i need? and where do i get the WCR decals etc, do i need the coach numbers too?

thanks for any help yall!

If you can get the right fonts or artwork and have an inkjet or colour laser printer then you can get decal paper from someone like http://www.craftycomputerpaper.co.uk/default.aspx and you make your own.

Our very own Alex Crawford has been doing this for a while and has invented hie own railroad complete with colour scheme and custom decals

good idea put how do you print white lettering and numbers?

Unless you are lucky enough to own an Alps-style ribbon printer, then printing white has to be left to the bigger manufacturers. Precision Labels and the new GF Mk1s are your best bet for doing WCRC stock. The loco livery is pretty plain, so repainting shouldn't be too difficult.

No need to print decals - Precision Decals do them here:

http://www.precisionlabels.com/d32.html

For n gauge you'll need D32-B and D32-D.

If you're getting the newer tooling Farish mk1 coaches then you'll want:

374-012A BR Mk1 SO Second Open Maroon
374-187A BR Mk1 BSK Brake Second Corridor Maroon
374-107 BR Mk1 RMB Mini Buffet Car Maroon (not yet released)
374-084 BR Mk1 BCK Brake Corridor Composite Maroon (not yet released)
374-816 BR Mk1 FO First Open Maroon (not yet released)

This site will help you marry up the correct coach numbers & names with their type:

http://www.railtourinfo.co.uk/coach.html#set18

You could also get a couple of the Farish Second Parlour Pullman coaches to repaint into WCRC maroon as cars 348 & 350. I'm putting together a tutorial on dismantling these coaches for repainting very shortly as I'm currently repainting a pair into WCRC.

Cambrian Driver Dave can print white, he did me some custom number sets.

quick - just what I wanted - and reasonable price.

portland-docks

when do those last few coaches get released?

i will need to start purchasing quite a few more coaches now, including the two pullmans, i already have 2 but they are staying as pullmans!

this may take a while!

Was the WCRC set you saw yesterday the Compass Tours Hereford - Edinburgh (and return)?

If so it was formed of the following Maroon stock ... Mk2 PV, Mk2 TSO (x4), Mk2 Buffet (in Choc/Cream), Mk2 TFO (x6), Mk1 BCK
47786, 5487, 6115, 6103, 6022, 6000, 1201, 3359, 3352, 3313, 3431, 3326, 3350, 99680, 47851

This is pretty much the usual rake/formation for the Compass Tours charters, but can be as few as 9 coaches. Usually 11 or 13 depending on route though :-)

Hope this helps.

Tony
