I think all he's doing is trying to find a use for the Fairy liquid bottles he's been saving  :confused1:

VERY, VERY close, not washing up bottles but denture cleaning tablet tubes!

I have (6) if anyone would like to construct silos, for free!  (P&P extra!)

It was my intention to use them but I have changed my mind!  They measure (1") inch diameter x (7.1/2" LOA).

Anyone interested?

Peter.

Oh Peter, I think it was all a ploy just to get us all posting pictures  ;)

Mind you, I did enjoy seeing the pictures from others posted.  :thankyousign:

The Walthers "Medusa Cement" has been around for some time https://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/933-3218

The silos are 1.5" diameter by 6.5" tall.  Frankly, by the time I'd faffed around scratchbuilding the unloading shed, elevator, baghouses and piping, I'd as soon get the Walthers kit and bin the denture cleaning tablet tubes (or reconsider them as horizontal non-pressure fuel oil storage tanks??)

You can see mine in the background of this shot:

I cannot recommend the weathering technique you can see on the shed roof as it involved redepositing the smoke from a catastrophic house fire.  :-[

Mine - see above - are made from Steradent tubes.  It's the only proper way to do it!!!  :D

Friends,

Since no-one wants the tubes I have for an English layout, is there anyone modelling North America who would like some corn silos?

Peter.
