I think, in general, the losing sides have put so much energy, commitment and pride into their performances with some notable exceptions - England, Spain and Italy to name but three. The USA ran themselves into the ground last night but at least they can say "We tried"

And no games tonight so........ I've been forced to do some work on the railway.
What a hard life !
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

I'm no fan of soccer but this made me chuckle - other matches available.

I agree. The Americans really went for it. As did the Aussies, too, IMO.

I hope our lot are watching this Brazil v Colombia game.
Full blooded, cracking pace, rumbustious tackles but players just get up and get on with it.
Flair, pace, emotion, skill, by the barrowload.
And.........No player gone off yet with a broken little toe nail !!!! (or a meta tarsel).

Terrible performance by the ref and his assistants though, not even a subtle homer  :veryangry: bet none of them are taking their holidays in Columbia!

Hmmm - Brazilians hardly looking like World Cup winning candidates are they?

The second half was basically fouls interrupted by sporadic bursts of football ::)
Wonder how Brazil will get on without 2 of their best players?

Won't comment on the Argentina v Belgium match in case someone hasn't seen it yet :zippedmouth:

Incredible headlines from Columbian newspaper Hoy concerning the Spanish referee  :o

Probably best not to translate it  :worried:

Currently "The Flying Dutchman" is at it again! I think if he brushed up against a daisy he'd fall over.

Also, is it just me or do others think he walks funny - like he needs to get to the bathroom for a number 2!!!

Anybody else watching Brazil vs Germany by any chance? We're witnessing history here .... poor Brazilians. I'm embarrassed for them.
