Love the way the bass player has a combo guitar and never uses it. Is that so he can pretend he's also a musician  :D

I seem to have missed a couple of posts!

Oh dear Asia was never the sum of its parts, very AOR.

Wuthering Heights, nothing like Kate Bush!

ZZ Top certainly had their moments - "Gimme All Your Loving".

Now I quite like "Hold Your Head Up", saw them at Brunel University.

I have 'Hold your head up' on 45, but prefer this track off the CBS sampler album 'Fill your head with rock'

Geez I actually remember that Argent song. :-[
Vision over visibility. Bono, U2.

Just to comment on a few that I missed over the last couple of days :

Asia - sorry, I know nothing about them and will not be investigating further.

ZZ Top - again not my thing but actually Rough Boy does sound listenable. It won't be going onto any of my playlists though.

Wuthering Heights - just no!

Argent - Dance in the Smoke. Yes, nice track @Newportnobby .

Try this one, Martin

Asia are probably best known for this track........

Martin @port perran , Asia is a supergroup formed in the very early 1980s, the original line up was Steve Howe (Yes) on guitar, Geoff Downes (Yes) on keyboards, John Wetton on bass and vocals (UK/King Crimson) and Carl Palmer on drums (ELP). Their first album was a hit and included "Heat of the Moment" as posted by Mick. The band has gone multiple line up changes since their debut and has released 13 studio albums, only constant Geoff Downes remains from the original line-up and are still active.

Yes @Newportnobby again both listenable but, to me, nothing to write home about.
I'm afraid it just doesn't do it for me.
I lost my music mojo in the 80s and to this day it's an era that I just can't raise much enthusiasm for.

Colosseum

Another look back to ancient times and one of those bands that I "cut my teeth on" in the very early 1970s.

Formed by saxophonist Dick Heckstall-Smith.
Other band members, from memory, John Hiseman, Dave Greenslade, Dave Clempson and Chris Farlowe on vocals who I always thought had a rather unique style.
I think I saw them twice back  in about 70/71.

If I remember correctly they issued a double Live Album on vinyl with a unique self cleaning system which made extracting the discs from the plastic sleeve a bit awkward.

I managed to last through the 'New Wave/Romantic' bits and early club anthems but anything after the 80s is pretty much useless to me (with the odd exception like Floyd's 'Pulse'). If 90s + stuff crops up on TV quizzes I just go and start preparing my evening meal

Im the opposite in many ways. I rather like s lot of the stuff from the 90s to the present day but a lot if it is not main stream

Bit of Anhrefn (Anarchy)
That sounds fun.
Falls somewhere between punk/post punk and Indie I think.
