Washes mouth out first but the mechanisms and track are N gauge.

In the last 14 days I have built a complete 009 mini layout and an etched brass Loco  that uses a Kato 11-105 bogie chassis.

Track is some of the Tomix stuff I had lying around (140mm radius ).

Loco shown in picture above, based on a GE Boxcab. The layout size is 420x350mm and the total cost has been around £20.
OK, I did have some stuff squirreled away so apart from the foam board and the  loco body kit no money was spent.

Great job Mike.  Interesting loco!  Looks like fun.

I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Thank you for your kind comments,
I may be doing more in this scale because I can actually handle the bits without using  a magnifing glass.

Don't be alarmed tho - No decent N gauge loco's will be sacrificed.
Only stuff like that 'orible bachman Plymouth 0-6-0 switcher and a couple of old minitrix 0-6-0 tank loco's needed for any future loco kits.  Still trying to sort out what to do about the one kit that needs a good farish Motor bogie.

Mike.. how come you can produce more goodies than me, when you are "only doing dioramas" than I can in months of "modelling".

Some days its just not worth gnawing through the straps.

Oldman

Jerry, think it might be called imagination.
Because I am not worried about having to fill a massive area and happy to do freelance stuff in small areas, maybe that helps.
Just to rub salt in you wounds  :bounce: That is a fully working layout, I have also built an 009 open coach today- postman delivered it at 1100 hrs, painted and test run 5 minutes ago.

I think that doing this 009 stuff is really giving me a buzz. I have a working layout that I can test all stock on and because every thing is kit built more of a fun.
Etched Brass or whitemetal Loco Kits. Am concentrating on plastic rolling stock.
There will be some Scalescenes and Smartmodels buildings as well.

Ouch!!!

I dabbled in the 009 stuff many years ago with my Gurgle and Wobble Railway. Had great fun with it before discovering.... Women my eventual downfall.

Glad to hear the card kit addiction is still strong though.  Keep em coming!!

Guilty as charged mi lord.
Problem is I'm now having to buy new scalescenes kits to suit the larger scale.
However I am ordering them in a different finish so could still use them for N, just printer reduction needed.

Also making etched brass working couplings :help: Cost cutting, they look a bit on the large size but are compatible with other makes and at only £5.00 for 5 pairs
I'm not going to complain too much.

I think I may definately be loosing the plot now.
Going to try scratch building one of these in 009.

Scale scenes small station building completed.

Mock up of the brewery loco in plasticard.

Chassis is one of the Caramel ones.

Next kit will involve the Bachman Plymouth chassis but that is a couple of weeks away at the moment.
