Modern British Scrap Metal Wagons?

As part of my New Modern Image Boxfile Layout, i have decided to do a scrap yard scene which is rail served.
What current wagons available in the RTR range would be suitable for scrap metal carrying wagons?

Would also consider kit built?

Any help appreciated, thanks in advance?

Graham Farish MBA box wagons I'd say, that's what the scrap trains I've seen use

Even in 3rd railland we have Steel Scrap Trains and Tractors...  2011 Modern Image enough?

Ian Stoate used to do some of the four wheelers. The Handsworth scrap is now MBA wagons however so I have to agree that seems a sensible choice for current practice, it's just they are long so for a box file may be a bit more limited interest.

I did build a couple of the Ian Stoate ones but then they became unavailable so I went with the modern version of the Handsworth scrap train instead (especially as someone was flogging MBA wagons for under a tenner at the time  )

I only know of the Sheerness Steel scrap wagons.

Not sure if theres rtr or kits of these but I'd imagine they're a pretty simple one to build from scratch.
And with all the dents and distortions they have you're modelling won't need to be perfect to be prototypical!

The wagons pictured are exactly what i had in mind. Can you give more detail please? What type of wagon are these designated as? Are they kit or RtR?
Im going to base the boxfile layout on coopers metals siding in Handsworth West Mids, and as you pointed out an MBA wagon rake will be too long for box-file.

Its an old Ian Stoate kit for a POA scrap wagon. Ian seems to have exited the market however so they may be hard to find.

I'm happy to part with these for a sensible offer but you'd still have to round up a few more I suspect, unless its a very short boxfile

Chivers Finelines do a (very easy to make) kit for the SSA/POA as well.

Sheerness Steel PXA used to be available as an etch kit from BHE.

RTR: MBA definitely, not sure if the MOAs have been used for scrap.

Do MEAs ever get used for scrap?  This is pretty much a short four-wheel version of the MBA and seem to be used for all sorts of things.  Farish make a model.

Link attached - scroll down a bit and you'll see the SSA Kit (£5).  Note that you'll also need to purchase a Peco 15 ft chassis kit NR122

I purchased quite a few OTA Timber Wagons from Simon a while ago and got a good deal - very nice chap to deal with. The quality of these kits is excellent!

On the look out for more to build a rake for the West Midlands themed Box file layout being built currently by moi.

off topic I realise, but I e-mailed Simon, explaining I wanted 10 x OTAs, and asking if he could do any deal for the ten, but without all the packaging etc, just the mouldings all in one box. He made me an offer I was very happy with and they have now arrived, and I am very pleased with them. So if you are looking for 10 or more kits it may well be worth an e-mail to see if any savings can be made.
