Bargain Class 37...followed by a blonde moment...

Just received today a good eBay bargain..it is 37027 loch eil the tmc commissioned model..it was £70 delivered chipped already and looks new...anyway I thought I would check the chip and loco and put it on my test oval program track...plugged my powercab in and could not read the chip...cleaned track and wheels and still no signs of life at all.so off comes the body and in goes a new chip...still nothing...finally another and last spare chip put in and again dead as a dodo...at this point I thought let's put a blanking plate and try in DC...popped the plate in then turned over my board for the track oval to swap the DCC connection to DC via a choc bloc..and bugger me the test track was already wired to my DC connection..no wonder 3 chips were not responding
