I'm trying to post an event on the calendar. I've entered the details in 'Post event', but it's not showing up in the list of latest posts. What am I doing wrong?

It's possible it may need to be "reviewed" before it's published. Maybe @Newportnobby can shed some more light on the situation.

AFAIK no approval is required for calendar entries. Maybe Chris could PM me with his methodology  and what/when he was trying to post

Having posted the event on the Calendar, you then get another screen to add all the details again for a post in the 'Events' section.
Not a lot is easy unless you are fairly used to doing it (a bit like the pics and 'galleries')
I can only presume this change was made in the last major upgrade

Yes, unfortunately the last major upgrade wiped out many of my photos in earlier threads 

Not the last one, but the one in 2014 I think.
