Well there are 5 for them to choose from:

Bealman's favourite being the one with the pool bar, of course!

Quote from: Bealman on May 15, 2025, 08:48:36 AMThe last time I had a cooked breakfast at a hotel, @Newportnobby chastised me about the state of the scrambled eggs. Well does this meet with your approval, Mick? I know it met with mine!

Now, look! You can go right off people, even if you've never met them!

I have just been diagnosed with gallstones, and I am on a strict low-fat diet. I have almost certainly eaten my last all-day breakfast, so I am not impressed with this picture. Not at all impressed... 'Triggering', I think is the current fashionable word. I would have a cold beer to cheer myself up, but I'm not allowed that either.  :*( Or pies...  :(

Also, I don't believe there is such a place as Daydream Island. That is straight out of the imaginations of 60s San Francisco hippies. I have heard of the Whitsundays, though.

Enjoy your breakfast, George!  :food:

Cheers,

Chris

PS. What's that yellow stuff at the north side of your plate? It looks like scrambled egg, but why would you have scrambled as well as fried?  :confused1:

Cos I happen to like me eggs, and being a buffet brekkie where you help yourself, well...

My question is why you would have fried and scrambled when a couple of lovely poached googies could have been had? Much more posh!

You and Mrs B certainly get around. I've been enjoying your tales of travels!

No poachies, otherwise I'd have thrown them on as well ;D

After rainy weather yesterday, today was sunny and very warm. We took a short stroll to the other end of the island (it ain't very big), and we're glad we did.

Here was a solitary pool, away from the posers at the resort. Mrs B had it to herself for hours.

There was even a chess set, but I had no one to play with - Mrs B doesn't play

Bealman's standard position at the resort.

Your feet do like posing for the camera. There's 3 pics just on this page!!
I notice you never enter the pool yourself. Can't you swim? Got a water aversion?

Bealman

Yes, I can swim, just worried that all the plates and screws in me ankle will rust :D

I reckon we all need to worry if skin is porous :worried:

I see the sea and the resort seem to slope quite alarmingly. Either the tectonic plates are shifting, or you have had more than the one tinnie beside you or the daydreams are more vivid than is good for you.

Cheers,

Chris

Oh, the dreams! The Daydreams! :laugh3:

Seeing as my foot being in photos seemed to bother Mick, here's both of em:

Anyway, off on a cruise today to a place called Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island itself.

The boat discharged us on this previously deserted beach (Mick will be pleased to learn I had to take me shoes off to get off the landing craft - it didn't quite make it up onto the beach). The sand was blindingly bright white...

Mrs B did go for a swim, but had to wear a full stingsuit because of the jellyfish threat!

So, we went on a bushwalk instead, on which Mrs B almost sprinted, but Bealman found quite challenging due to his gammy ankle, multiple stone steps and the heat.

Nevertheless, he made it, and the view was splendid.

It was a half day excursion, and, back at the resort, we found this interesting (and, judging by the plaque, obviously fake) artifact only 100m or so from our room:

The plaque:

Anyway, next bus stop: Chez Bealman.
