Government alert for Storm Darragh

Who else received the alert on their phone?

I was in the railway room listening to music via my phone on a speaker at quite high volume.

The alert made mr jump out of my skin!

Certain parts of the country where there are coastal areas

No alert in Chippenham nor Swindon apparently, Bristol yes.

I was in a pub having a meal, loads of phones going off, loud and we were wondering what the hell was going on at first!!

My flight to the UK got cancelled because of the storms. Getting reports from family in North Devon showing it looking like a disaster area. Although that's the before photos.

No alerts here last night although it was very wet both inside and out 

Just an average evening's consumption, then?

Maybe slightly more than usual and it's wet again outside tonight so I may have to try a couple more

Can confirm alert went off in North Bristol whilst we were driving.

Was quite a shock.

Took a fraction of a second to realise what it was and my wife looking at the phone to confirm it wasn't a nuclear strike threat (which dramatic as it sounds, I am led to believe would use the same system?).

Annoyingly the tech is not massively accurate as it turns out we are / were in the "Orange" alert rather than "Red" alert area.

Guessing this is a factor of phone transmitter location but still, we don't want to get lackadaisical about such things do we?

Especially if the threat of another sun coming over the horizon ever occurs...
