At last we know why police got us out of bed in the middle of the night to ask if we had heard anything earlier that night way back in March

He'll never get a job with the AA as he's not "a very very nice man".

Saw that in the paper this morning. So, he just happened to fall onto the bed with the other guy's wife. Accidentally, like?
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Sorry, I entirely disagree.

Whatever the circumstances innocent or not there is never, and I mean NEVER an excuse for physical violence! If there was something going on then it was obviously his wife's choice to cheat on him no matter who the third party is, and therefore any anger should be directed at here, again in a non-physical manner.

No one likes violence Paul but as we don't live in a perfect world violence does happen  I agree with you to a point, if my wife was cheating on me by playing up with my work mate I would most likely shake his hand and wish him all the best then thank him for taking over my leftovers  but not everyone is easy going like me

I guess that as I had heard noisey outside earlier that night I should have gone out to investigate.
I do now think that I might have recieved an unwelcome 'greeting' if I had done so tho
