Train Waiting

Hello Chums

This month's Railway Modeller has just been handed to me by the postlady.

As usual, there is a great deal of interest, including a lovely NSE-themed layout in 'N' gauge.  The article is titled, Southampton East goes West!

Included with the magazine is a supplement, Modelling Britain's Railways in the 70s.  If one likes the Rail Blue era, this will be a most interesting read.  And it is not all diesel and electric, there is steam as well.  Some preserved and some industrial, including a splendid photograph of ex-GWR 0-6-0PT No. 7754 (she's still got her smokebox numberplate) and Barclay 0-6-0T Llantanum Abbey on shed at Mountain Ash Colliery.

There is even BR Blue steam and diesel together, at Aberystwyth!

All best wishes.

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.

Just bought mine so haven't read it yet, but there looks to be some interesting stuff inside.
This issue was all wrapped up so no reading it without purchase, not that it bothers me as I get RM every month and pass it on when read.

I will not spoil it for others but there is a couple of articles that may interest modellers modelling 1948 / 50s locos in the experimental liveries and the East Lancashire area

The supplement is excellent 2 brilliant photos of my local station, Stainforth and Hatfield, where I did my trainspotting around 1960-ish.  Graham
