Yep. Although the 769 (and 319) is slated for May/June, so technically outside their own 3-month window.

any new rolling stock announced?

or just re-runs?

i will buy some 08s - but i think they should have fitted a stay alive and they are behind the times by not doing so

Have they said there isn't a capacitor in there? Nothing new new, no. The 769 is a redecorated 319. The 08 is a chassis upgrade. Otherwise re-runs.

The Reasoning behind the OO JPA Cement wagons becoming collectors club models as it is too expensive for general sale breaks my heart.
The JPA in both Liveries is at the top of my freight wishlist in N as I would like to model the internal Scottish Cement trains (Oxwellmains to Uddingston/Inverness/Aberdeen) I could swallow the price (Or more likely sell a container train as id rather the cements which I see semi-regularly) but I wonder if this is what is needed to produce another batch in OO if it we will ever see a rerun in N.

It's one I always think about as a 3D print, as I'd quite like some O gauge ones. Just need to get around to it!

Thanks to those who put the announcements and video on here.   I did receive the Press email from Bachmann last night, but they never give you any warning.  I was busy running a Cubs evening, so I didn't have time to put it on here.

I admire anyone who managed to sit through all 29 minutes of that video right to the end (without falling asleep).

Aren't these just the new announcements for Spring, so there is hope for some more things to come later in the year?

In theory, these are the model that Bachmann should be sending out to the shops within the next three months. They'll do a summer announcement in May/June, followed by others in autumn and then winter.

However, we're still waiting for models from Winter 2021, and even some EFE branded ones from 2020 so take the due dates with a pinch of salt!

Whilst I admire the chassis upgrades on the 08's and am happy that they're producing a 'new' model in the 769, I am disappointed that there are no re-runs of that staple of the railway, Coaches!!!

There is a dearth of stuff for all these lovely new models to pull, we all know about batch production currently within the industry, but surely someone has looked at what happened to the MK2f's and went "Blimey, they sold well. Shall we look at doing another run and make some more money??"

Neal.

Hoping that one day they'll backdate the 08 to an LNER J45...

More immediately, who on earth at Farish decided that the rtp stone scenic accessory thing was a "coal staithe"?  It looks like it's meant to be an under scale loco coaling platform, and should at least come with some baskets or tubs for hand loading the coal into tenders/bunkers.  But I would have thought even the most cack-handed modeller could knock something like that up from some plasticard in an hour or so. It's an ideal thing for a first attempt at scratchbuilding.

Richard

(A coal staithe is where coal is loaded (usually by dropping) from railway wagons into ships or canal boats.  The equivalent inland, mainly found on the ex-NER but also elsewhere, are coal drops or coal cells. The sets of semi-ramshackle "sleeper built" enclosures found mainly in model scenery manufacturers' catalogues, hardly ever on the real railway, and never backed up to the track as on many model railways, are coal bins.)

Do we know whether the new 08s will have working marker lights? From those shots of the chassis I'm guessing not.

I was on a business call with the sound off but subtitles on, multi-tasking.

Such a shame this isn't the 2-4-0 Well Tank variety  :D
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

I'm encouraged Farish will release a 769.
Hope GWR and Northern liveries will follow suit ... and maybe a class 768 Orion parcels unit too!

I'm a bit confused...

In a few liverys such as BR green, they seem to only have announced a sound fitted 08, but not DCC ready. But then some shops such as Rails and Kernow show it for pre order, but at a lower price than the others. So if I place a pre order will I get a DCC ready 08 in green?

Hi all,

New class 08 DCC and Sound ready while not much livery wise of interest for me (wouldn't have said no to a Freightliner version in green or orange) I will probably take the RSS version however its bugging me hugely that for some reason the model has ladders which which the real thing hasn't had in RSS livery at any stage IIRC this was part of Rail Group Standards to remove them to prevent people easily climbing on top of them... and just as comparison

Farish model with ladders....

The exact 08 on the right without ladders

Now for the other news for me and a new model....kind of!  The class 769 and well I like it and again a little tempted as I know at least one TfW 769 did night testing around Crewe, but why only the TfW version I mean its great for those that model current day Wales (and a long over due), I get why they have an wouldn't do the Northern version as it would compete with the 319s but no GWR version or 768 which is literally a freight version?
Seems to limit the potential audience in my eyes.

All in it's been an ok offering this time but considering some of the previously announced models that should have arrived already haven't arrived as yet I won't hold my breath of the arrival dates....

Mechanical issues can be solved with a hammer and electrical problems can be solved with a screw driver. Beyond that it's verbal abuse which makes trains work!!

The Beatties shop is a blast from the past! I spent a lot of time and money in their shops (mainly the Manchester one) in the early'80s.

The green and blue were announced some years ago, I know as I've been waiting for the green one myself! They said in the video that these would now use the new chassis with DCC socket, and sound versions of these were part of todays announcement. I wouldn't be surprised if the price of these two rose to match the others, the chap said the price rise is on the 1st March didnt he?
