Just watched it myself and it is nice to see they have updated the Class 08 to DCC and sound.

At £244 and 254 mrrp  for the sound 08's, it will be interesting to see what they end up selling for at the shops

Hi all,

Great news about the 769 - I thinkl Wales has been underserved for models for too long, and there are some very modellable locations and flows there!

As to the 08 - I am very impressed they've managed to squeeze in DCC Sound.  I will probably go for either the RSS black on the basis that it could be hired out to anyone (I feel like I see it at LNER's depot at Bounds Green regularly) or Network Rail yellow, as I like that livery and would probably re-imagine it as a spot hire vehicle.

cheers

Ben A.

British N not my thing but it was interesting to watch the video.

I like the look of the 769, do you think the Scharfenberg will be compatible with the Tomix (and hence Dapol) version?

Can someone please post the link to the video?

I've just looked at the photos on the other forum. Sound fitted 08's may sound nice but, unless they have "stay alive" also fitted I fear people will be left wanting.

Likewise haven't modelled British actively since 1979 (...) but love the idea of a sound 08, the 08's have a very particular low powered 'chug' sound

Thankyou.

I can't see a "stay alive" fitted but there's probably room.

I don't think so - the coupler looks a much bulkier beast than the Tomix version.

Maybe It is because I was looking for a distraction but I was quite happy with that announcement
I second the sentiments about the 769 and DCC class 08 being positive developments. I look forward to seeing them

Slightly off topic
As models often trickle down to the shrink ray there were a few interesting 00 Gauge announcements
The MK2F DBSO as refurbished is a sensible development and if there is another ScotRail 47/7 in the long term N gauge list I will bite their hands off for it (I appreciate the OO models are new tooling but I would be happy with just reruns of the N model)

The Reasoning behind the OO JPA Cement wagons becoming collectors club models as it is too expensive for general sale breaks my heart.
The JPA in both Liveries is at the top of my freight wishlist in N as I would like to model the internal Scottish Cement trains (Oxwellmains to Uddingston/Inverness/Aberdeen) I could swallow the price (Or more likely sell a container train as id rather the cements which I see semi-regularly) but I wonder if this is what is needed to produce another batch in OO if it we will ever see a rerun in N.

any new rolling stock announced?

or just re-runs?

i will buy some 08s - but i think they should have fitted a stay alive and they are behind the times by not doing so

Aren't these just the new announcements for Spring, so there is hope for some more things to come later in the year?
