is it me, or has the site been horrendously slow today ?

several times I've sat there for ages watching the 'circle of indecision' rolling away on the top of the page, and a couple of times received this

no idea what SMF is, but it might mean something to someone.

no other sites are affected, so I assume it is not my internet thingy.

Yes, a bit slow at times today, though not enough to be more than mildly annoying when trying to upload piccies. Anyway, I cocked that up a bit without any help from anybody anyway!
Seems fine at the moment, suggesting @Tank has shovelled some more coal in and we are back to a full head of steam.

A little bit slow occasionally but generally been ok today.

@class37025 SMF is the forum software.  Simple Machines Forum   (as mentioned at the bottom of all pages).

Slow here on and off today.

Very slow for most of the day, here in East Yorkshire

Also at times here slow. I updated chrome and was and am being patient..Chris @Tank    any ideas please ?

It was so tediously slow this morning I almost gave up but, of course, being a Mod, soldiered on with rolling eyes and curses flying everywhere .
Luckily I found 2 rolling eyes and put them back in again
