Great layout, and great to see!  My father's family is from Alston (and Nenthall) and you have, indeed, brilliantly captured the feel of the place although the roads should probably be glistening with rain!  😁
A non rivet counter in all the scales and prototypes I "model" ......

Strangely enough, I've been to Alston twice, both in my yoof, and had a couple of beers there. First time it was grey skies, but the other was sunny blue skies!  :beers:

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.
