Had an email purporting to be from DPD saying I was out so they couldn't deliver a package, would I make a payment of £3 for rescheduling the delivery ; as I'd been expecting a delivery but had a doctors appointment so was out for just under an hour, like a twit I made the payment, next day a call from the bank about a payment of £799, was it me - to which I replied - no way. I then got onto the bank by calling their number as on my statements, they confirmed the payment and similar amounts which they cancelled also cancelled the debit card and sending a new one.
Today received another DPD email about a different package number, ignored it and contacted police; evidently it's not restricted to coming from DPD but also other dilivery services.

Thanks for the heads up Mike, and glad you managed to come through financially unscathed thanks to the bank's warning systems when unusual payments come through and get questioned.

Had  a similar one last week, but from Royal Mail, asked to press "reschedule now" then they wanted personal details and credit card details, no way.
The email came from  "no reply at safishing.com", Googling this it seems they are some sort of store who take the money and do not deliver.

SWMBO had a similar email  - it referred to a delivery number, similar to but not identical to a real one, and the server was in .ru ( ie Russia!)

we sent it to the real DPD address to inform them of the problem

@Trainfish  I should be OK thanks, I have a couple of packets left which should keep me going until the new card arrives and I can pay for the ordered ones. The card should arrive today or tomorrow. If I do run into a problem I will PM you.

No worries. Let me know if you're stuck as I have quite a few and they won't be used for a few weeks at least

DPD reply

Thank you for your email. I have had a look at the parcel number you have provided in your complaint and as you have advised, it is not showing any results on our system. Please be aware that we would never ask you to provide further payment for your deliveries on top of what you have paid your sender. I am confident that this email is not being sent by DPD.

Please could I kindly ask you to forward the email to:

phishing@dpdgroup.co.uk

Once you have done this please block the account and delete the email. Please do not provide any sort of payment information. If you have done so, please contact your bank.

Since you are due to receive a parcel soon, I have checked our system with your email address and postcode. I am not able to find any results on our system confirming that you have received a fraudulent email.

Apologies for the concern raised.

Kind regards,

Zara

@Dorsetmike, thanks for the heads up on this.

Received this email a couple of days ago when I was expecting a delivery, but following your experience did not respond and passed it to DPD,

Then a buddy calls up he's received the same scam email so advised him accordingly.
