I have a Harris Tweed jacket, got as a gift, lucky as they  cost a fortune . 3 piece  tweed suits are
not easy to come by in the UK, don't know about the US.  I thought they were usually custom made,
but once you have one it will last a lifetime. There is an Irish tailor, will check their name.

Further to last post, Kevin and Howlin of Dublin do nice Donegal tweed stuff
and Cordings of London do a variety of tweed suits, hats, etc, but these places ain't cheap !

If you have the cash these will last a lifetime , a bit like buying a Rolex watch.........

If they last a lifetime, and I got one, I'd be getting ripped off 

For what you might want a at reasonable price, you might wish to look at these people, who are beside the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.

These are 'everyday' suits.  If you want something much harder wearing, I suggest you try House of Bruar or Cordings.

Don't know why they used a Ducati in the photographs.  Much better with a Scott; made in Shipley!

That turned up a fair few options.

Not sure I'd want to buy a suit on eBay, YMMV. I know there's a growing number of custom tailors in London who operate out of India, but come to London to run a 'surgery', size you up and then you get your order x weeks later.

I realise you're US based, but those Cordings ones Broadsword mentioned don't seem particularly expensive; < £1000 for a 3-piece.

I'd look for a tailor locally and go and speak to them. I'd personally always want to see and touch a suit fabric, even more so something like tweed.

Thank you men! I'll continue my quest now better armed. I knew this was the place to ask such a question.

Don't forget that Harris Tweed had an unfortunate tendency to smell when it got wet. Due to the use of 'natural' fixing agents used to make the dye.

There are an awful lot of sheep in the Hebrides!
