I think I've seen a Hornby army-themed set in the not so distant past?

Almost forgot:  I have one of these G scale sets! 



Got it very cheap (£50 I think).  The loco's not brilliant but the wagons are perfectly compatible with my other American G scale stuff.

Hornby do at least one similar type set - although nowhere near as cool or varied.

The Transformers or M*A*S*H* set would have done for me (probably still would!).

Minor correction; the ESNG lot are the East Surrey group.

Sadly, the modern train sets aren't anywhere near as exciting.

I must admit I've never had an interest in any of those type toys, only in modelling the real thing.
As for the A team the sight of a group of actors mostly too old for the military, running around, behind bullet proof flowers was just to ridiculous to watch.

Mind you at 25 years old in the RAF, I don't think I was the target audience...

I think you're overthinking the show.
