Found the above on the BBC website. The UK N gauge manufacturers have missed the boat again (I'd buy a Southeastern Hitachi) mind you with the amount of steam and diesels produced they may be able to cobble together a commemorative set - for the 1908 and 1948 London games!
Just one Pendolino, give it to me, a beautiful train, from Italy

You never know, Dapol may have a Hitachi up their sleaves...but I agree it is now probably a bit late.

Sadly, there is not really any suitable for a 1908 set...Dapol produce the Terrier and M7, but we don't really have anything else suitable - particularly from an express point of view.

Going back to the Hitachi...Kato produce the 885 'White Sonic' in N Gauge which is a very similar design to the 395...so much so, that someone on RMWeb converted one a year or two ago...

Ha - put a ladder on that stupid sidecar on the Scalex bicycle and you would have our local window cleaner. He has a homemade sidecar on a racing bike, and goes around in lycra - not a pretty sight when he's up a ladder, but the girls don't seem to mind!

That Scalextric cycling cash in has been going for half price on Amazon for a few months now. Looks absolutely awful from a game point of view (lanes aren't even so it's not a fair race for starters) and terrible for branding as you have the faceless robotic riders rather than the big names.

Heard something on the radio the other day about this, seems to be a bit of a row brewing as the toys are being made in China where workers are getting paid 26p per day!

Can't be any worse than the Hornby / Corgi Olympic tat that's sitting unsold on shelves across the land. Most of it should be rebranded "Pound Shop 2013"  :)

No doubt by the same people who in six months will be bitching about how expensive they are !

As you know, these middle England, middle aged, middle class earth mothers do enjoy a good moan to the Daily Mail so this should keep them occupied for the best part of the year  :smiley-laughing:

Could be worth investing in a load of it when the dust has settled and then flogging it on Fleabay a year or so later
