A few years ago I bought a crimson & cream Graham Farish BR Mk1 Restaurant First Open coach (running number M4/part number 374-802).

The coach was supplied without any interior. I seem to remember that it was Farish's intention to provide these coaches with interior fittings, but as these were not available the coaches were supplied without. However, Farish "promised" to supply the interiors to all purchasers free of charge when available.

Did anyone ever receive their interior for this Mk1 RFO ?

Best regards,

Joe

Joe,

I don't believe the interiors were every produced, the RFO, RU and the CK arrived without them and despite promises they never appeared.

I was going to build some CK interiors but have now retired them as the later produced versions are so much better.

Regards

Tony

My Green RFO S9 (374-809) has an interior, whereas its predecessor (374-803A) doesn't; so it looks like if you want an interior in your RFO you'll have to shell out on the latest Blue Riband version (374-807).

I read this in the model press in 2005 or 2006 when when the first batch of BSK's & CK's came out without interiors, but have seen nothing since. I did mention to the Bachmann rep on their stand at York, but he had no knowledge of it.

Over the years I have got used to the lack of interiors. A pity though as I have some to sell off as surplus to requirements.

Thanks for all the replies.

I had the same experience with the Prototype Models card Kit for the LNWR north lights engine shed kit that I bought 18 years ago.

This was supposed to include a white metal pillar to support the lintel above the doors. There was a slip of paper inside the bag explaining that this was out of stock but would eventually be supplied to all purchasers.

To quote Diana Ross :

"I'm still waiting..........."

I did a pattern for 'print-your-own' interiors for the Farish CK & BSK. They're still on the website at http://www.tpmodels.co.uk/Farish_interiors.jpg
Oddly they did two new interiors for the TSO and FK, but then gave up!

And very useful they were, Bernard.

Most of my older carriages have these inserts, and some were even kitbashed for SKs, FKs and BCKs.  :)

Resurrecting this thread to ask if anyone knows of an interior kit for the RFO/RU that may have come out in the past year or so?

I used the mk2 fo seat set for the rfo. These are available from brlines and n gauge society. I think I had an rfu kit from tpm just checked on line and appears to be no longer instock.Graham

Thanks. Where do you get the TPM stuff? The only website i could find announced they are closed as of 2013.

This problem of no interiors doesn't go away!!
I have 2 first restaurant cars RFO and one FO all without interiors these being the early Chinese versions of the Graham Farish Poole design.
I have Bernards print for the missing BSK and CK interiors to print / cut / glue as DIY interiors. There is no mention of him doing a RFO / FO. With paint i'm quite happy to have a go at making an RFO artwork however Im not knowledgeable of what the interior design should be.
Is it paired seats each side with a centre corridor, blue seats and white tables? perhaps if somebody has the later farish retool and would do the honour of lifting the roof off for a photo then I might just have a go at the artwork.
The next to solve is the standard restaurant car  RU
Kind regards from Fred

I had this problem but in the end just used mk2 seating which is available from brlines

I was just thinking of editing Bernards artwork using paint. All I need to know is what the interior should look like. Bernards print has the spacing already set for first class seating ie where to fold the card print. All I need is to know what the end result should look like. I'm guessing the seats are for two people each side of an open corridor with no partitions. after that its just a case of reworking the artwork, print and get a sharp stanley blade on the go. Once Ive cracked it anybody else can have a copy.
Kind regards from Fred

According to the plans in Hugh Longworth's Mark 1 and Mark 2 book, the Diagram 36 Open Firsts were 2+1 seating, at tables, with individual chairs. The '2' side of the central aisle was on the same side as the lavatories.
