Trains late because of the 'extreme heat'
Just one Pendolino, give it to me, a beautiful train, from Italy

Not saying it's hot in my house, but a pair of hobbits just threw a ring in it.

Just been out in the garden to put a load of weed killer down before it does get warm .I can now just sit under the ceiling fan and keep cool with lots of cold drinks next to me,it's times like this that I'm glad I've retired.

I never complain about hot weather. I can sympathise with people whose health is affected by it but cold weather can be just as detrimental. And hay fever always ruins June for me, whether it is hot or cold.

Having spent most of my working life working outdoors I treasured the few weeks of summer and dreaded winter which always seemed to drag on for months and months. I grew to hate it in the end.

Still, cooler this morning, with the promise of thunderstorms, which means I will spend a lot of time trying to calm down my dog who will have turned into a quivering jelly. Heigh ho...

Purely on a medical basis cold drinks are not good for you in this heat, Bob
All that happens is your body works frantically to bring the fluid up to your core temperature and so you end up perspiring. Sorry, but it's better to have a cuppa tea to keep your fluid levels where they should be.

Ok NPN I'll bring the kettle in and make coffee instead.

Well, Summer was nice while it lasted. Weather forecast says thunderstorms overnight at my lovely hometown, followed by torrential rain tomorrow morning. Aaah, the British weather :)
::) So whats happened to the doom and despondency ?
We had a great relaxed nights sleep and its just starting to dribble a few spots of rain now.
OK its cooler and easier for breathing this morning but that's all. ot even a single flash of lightning or clap of thunder to disturb us  but we are 4 miles norf of the 'city centre'

We had a thunderstorm at about 10pm last night but it was a pretty half-hearted affair and petered out after about ½ an hour ::)
It's still 24 degrees inside.
