looks nice, did you paint the whole carriage first then add the decals? are you putting the coach numbers on too?

Some pics of a Compass tour to Dundee, sorry there are no shots of carriages

Also did a S & C trip run by WCRC but the carriage emblem was not what I expected

My WCRC rake (as shown in the other thread) is of 3 TSO's, a BSK and an SK (but as per the real one this has a TSO interior). Like Chris i'm gonna be repainting some SP Pullmans into maroon (Eventually i'll do all 4 that WCRC have). When the other coaches are released i'll get some of them too as i'd like to have as many WCRC coaches as possible so i can mix and match rakes as per the real thing.

One note if you are using the Farish Mk1's (I'd recommend the New higher detailed ones) then to be prototypical then the ends of the coaches will need to be re-sprayed/painted into BR Maroon at all.

If ya want any more pics of mine then i'd be happy to take some

I rubbed them down then sprayed some yellow on it, put a line of 1mm masking tape down the side then sprayed the red on and finaly the decals. Not sure I'll bother with the numbers as there so small in n gauge, dont really miss them!

Chris

Here are my WCRC liveried Pullmans now - still got to add decals though.

I've done a guide in the Tutorials section to dismantling these Pullmans (and the new Mk1s) for respraying. The paint is Holts Burgundy which I also used for 57601 and is a close match for the claret used by WCRC.

portland-docks

will that match the maroon on the new mk1s?

For the ends of my coaches i've used Railmatch BR Maroon, this is what i'll also be using for my Pullmans

would it not be easier painting it red first, then placing the tape on to leave a thin line for the yellow? that way you could do the two yellow lines it has. and i agree with the numbers

Not sure yet as I haven't got any of the mk1s yet. If not then I will repaint them to match. The colour used on the Pullmans is a close match for WCRC coach claret so if the maroon mk1s don't match then they'd be better repainted to match my 57601 loco.

yeh i see what you mean, im going to just try get a set of mk1s and then remove any logos and numbers on them and replace them with the WCRC ones. im not too fussed about the pullmans as they arent on every train are they really, plus im still trying to build my pullman train so i dont want to buy 2 pullmans to repaint them unless i can get them stupidly cheap

Something which may be of interest to you Chris. During my research for my WCRC rake i discovered that the locos and coaches are different shades. The coaches are in bog standard BR Maroon whilst the Locos are in WCRC Maroon. But hey if you ever see a WCRC train its very rare to see two coaches exactly the same colour (as most of them are filthy!)

Hi all,

I've finally got one of my West Coast Pullman Coaches complete with transfers (Big Thanks to Cambrian Driver Dave for these!)

It's not perfect but suits me fine (the shiny marks on the carriage sides are severely magnified in the pics, hardly noticable from a viewing distance)
