I suppose I need to add a few to my coaching stock, even though with weathering the windows obscure a lot of the interior.

How do farish coaches come apart ?

Yeah, I guess I'll have to leave that for my Mexico-based layout.

I use the cheapo Chinese figures in my coaches, you have to over paint some of the "brighter" painted ones but they are very cheap and if you are adding 10 or so peeps to a carriage make it more economical.

Do you have a link for this seller, Caz? Some of the prices for seated figured on eBay are eye-watering.

That's the problem Pete, the guy that used to sell packs of only seated figures is no longer trading, last lot I bought were mainly standing figures which can be used with care.  You have to cut the legs off whether they are standing or seated to fit in the seats within the confines of the seats.

Thanks Caz. I'll do a browse through eBay and see what comes up. Hats, suits, and formal wear are best for 1930, I'd say.

I may be wrong, but from my memory of films set in the 30's weren't ladies hats fairly small so could be represented by a blob of different coloured paint to their hair colour?
KISS = Keep it simple stupid

I must admit, because my layout is set in the years up to 1948 I tend use blobs of paint to represent hats or even a blob of good old fashioned modelling putty

Kato charge nearly £30 for 2 sets of seats ( plus passengers)  for their alpine coaches, so I think these are better value

( though they have First & Second class passengers)

100 seated people £2.09 inc p/p from china

Holy thread resurrection Batman!

The Noch ones are evidently much better, but for sticking in coaches the eBay look just the ticket. That said, as you'll have to remove the legs anyway there's no advantage in a sitting set.

I'd be tempted by these, more varied poses, slightly more expensive, but it's for 300 of them, and they look a bit more detailed.
