On the BBC website this morning there was an item about more leaks of
pix of naked celebrities. I'd only heard of one of them and that was only
because she was mentioned in the Pointless quiz a few weeks ago.

(And it wasn't Angela Merkel!)

OMG! :o
The thought of a naked Angela Merkel has just made me see my lunch for the second time :sick2:

Here's another thought for you: a naked Hermann Kohl.  :beers:

Meanwhile I must be getting old too, because my thoughts tend towards not so much "who?" as "the kids have it good these days, in my day you had to cycle miles to the nearest known friendly newsagent (uphill both ways in the snow some days) for this kind of stuff".

Anyway, must go, have a naked baseboard ready waiting to be laid (with track, I hasten to add).

Hi

I have to agree with the above comments - Does anyone recognise more than one of the contestants on each airing on Celebrity Pointless?!!  Or is it really a Getting Old thing?  I Actually spotted Alexander Armstrong in a bit part in the Sharpe episode "Sharpe's Regiment" when I replayed it the other day.  He looked really splendid and young in uniform, which was rather tarnished when he was in drag for a tableau for the then Prince of Wales.

I also wonder if it is only me, but as I move further and further and further into my retirement, I find that I have to check my spellings more often, even on "simple" words.  When I was working in nineteen hundred and frozen to death I wrote a multitude of reports and letters which only needed a quick proof read before printing - now ?11*&£?

The last celebrity on Pointless that I recognised was the guitarist from Slade with the
very long straight hair, when I saw him I thought it was Baldrick for a second.

The normal Pointless quiz I find quite enjoyable with the good natured banter.

Sometimes I watch Eggheads , a mixed bunch,Barry is ok,  but some of the others are
insufferable. Kevin is a crashing bore, CJ a drama queen , and Daphne an old phoney,
always pretending she knows nothing then can reel off the lineup of the Buzzcocks
in about 5 seconds. The  woman who won the Millionaires not a bad bit of posh totty.

I must be older than the lot of you, (80) I've never even heard of the programmes you mention let alone the people.

I've given up watching TV, just so much mindless drivel spouted thereon, and only listen to the radio (Classic FM) at mealtimes to catch the news.
Cheers MIKE

The whole naked celebrities thing makes me larf...

Would you Take pictures of yourself in a compromising position, store them in a data centre somewhere in the world that is unknown to yourself and assume they are safe from public view?

Also the guy who leaked the photographs has said that he knows which photos he has leaked and that half of those claiming to have leaked photos, leaked them themselves...

Still haven't heard of half of them myself and BTW what are TOWIE and Made In Chelsea.

It appears to me that to be called a celeb these days all you have to do is be caught on camera any where at any time, I might rate as a celeb as I was feature for 5 seconds on undercover boss :smiley-laughing:

I am old some people tell me but I don't feel it a bit.

My wife (she's 10 years younger than me) says I am into my 2nd childhood now, especially as I've gone back to railway modelling.

Don't watch a lot of TV in Tenerife (mainly football and Foruma 1) but the misses is a big fan of Eggheads and other Quiz programs.

One program I do remember watching from my childhood which I enjoyed and is currently being re-made again is the "Clangers", and I can't wait to see if it is as good as it used to be - will there still be the Iron Chicken and the Soup Dragon in it?

And I may have posted the Link to this Goon Show clip before, but it still makes me laugh every time I watch it. They don't make them like they used to!

Always brings to mind that wonderful young singer, Bing Crosby, singing "Thanks for the Memory!"

The Goons, what one BBC executive once called the Go On show!  Thanks!

Some days its just not worth gnawing through the straps.

I find all these so called "reality TV" series about as interesting as watching paint dry. What does slightly worry me is the young kids that hold up these semi literate half wits as role models. Talk about setting your sights low.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.
