Less than 4 minutes played between Argentina and Nigeria and there have been 2 goals

Darn - Was playing around with anyrail and lost track of time. Came in at 41 mins and see is 1-1 And 1-0 to Bosnia in the other game. Have no idea who's where in this group. Anyone wish to proffer a quick summary?

Right, think I've got it from looking at the table. Looks like it will be the Argies and Nigerians going through. Am I correcting in thinking that NO South or Central American team has been knocked out yet? Indeed any teams from the American continents? Still got USA tomorrow though.

FIFA decision on Suarez is out! Banned for 9 intl. matches and 4 months. Given that premiership doesn't start until the second half of August, it's not really four months is it?

FIFA's just confirmed that they are the joke that I always thought they were! Hmmm, might have to adopt a new sport!

That's hardly a punishment, is it?
I'd have thrown him in a bear pit - might have been interesting to see who won :hmmm:

Want four months off work? Go bite your colleague  :bounce:

It still think the ban is ridiculously too lenient and yet again FIFA are sending out the message that it's not ok, but we're not going to do much about it.

If one of us bit a colleague at work we'd not only be sacked, we'd most probably be up before a judge. It's an absolutely shocking reaction (or perhaps not) from FIFA. As for the Uruguayan protestations, pathetic.

I don't buy any of the "oh but it's not fair on Liverpool" arguement either. If a club buys a player and he gets banned for violent misconduct then tough luck. A company does not get paid by the police / government / public if one of their employees is jailed for breaking the law.

This just demonstrates to me that football truly has departed to another planet and has morphed into something that just insults the loyal fans. Absolutely pathetic.

A one year ban MINIMUM in my book!

Nope - He's considering joining Bite-on and Hove Albion but what he really wants is to join a feeder club  :laugh3:

This might be a bit risqué for this site, but I thought it funny and is relevant to the subject.

A man went into a brothel, gave the girl £200 and said "I want you to seriously embarrass and humiliate me".
She gave him an England football shirt, told him to put it on, then kicked him out into the street.

Hmmmm - are we all footied out?
Things have gone very quiet, but at least we are into the last 8 now, none of whom have been particularly impressive :-\
I have to say I am looking forward to the Brazil v Columbia game (and hope Columbia win).
There - that's should kick things off again :D

I enjoyed the Belgium v USA game last night and would actually like the Belgians to go further.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

DesertHound

Absolutely gutted Germany MkII, sorry, I mean USA went out last night. What a cracking game they put up. I really don't know who I'm going to support now ...

Bring on the quarters

What I like about this World Cup is that there is no dominant team at the moment. I think that the USA have been terrific , their commitment and organisation have put many other countries to shame. Wonder how long it will be before there is a Klinsmann for England manager campaign?

Interesting that some of the stars have been players that have failed to shine in the Premier League (or even the Championship).
