I think I've mentioned this on here before, but years ago at York Station the Rail Riders club had a kind of exhibition layout, with an N gauge layout where a 56 with HAAs went into one side of an unloading plant full, and came out empty the other side, it was all timed to match speed and position.

Loops inside the tunnel/building solve the problem.

Its presumably just an escher type illusion for the stairs, maybe some form of twisted perspective for the other, quite convincing.
