I dunno about the more recent ones, but the one I built is ripe for illumination if you are so inclined.

I'm quite a Star Trek fan, original and newer series but I wouldn't
spend a ha'penny on something that looks like it came out of a
Christmas cracker. So  beam me up Scotty and set phasers
to tickle.

It's N gauge Jim ,but not as we know it. :D

Seriously, then I WANT whatever crackers you get at Christmas! Couple pictures of the model Enterprise in question in and out of the transparent stand, and no, it doesn't blend in well with the scenery! The judiciously placed Land Rover gives an idea of scale.

Is the size, paintwork and detail worth £1.99; probably yes. But £9.99 for the subsequent models after the special offers are done, more of an open question.

Nice pix Nemo.

Here's a true tale, sort of related to this thread, in a pub I frequent in Glasgow,
kind of place where you nod to the regulars, know their first names and make
small talk there was a guy called Mick or Mark, and when asked if he was doing anything special would say he was working on his boat. Eventually he said it was finished, and someone asked where he was taking it , like Loch Lomond or the
Clyde. He looked a bit bewildered at the question. Turned out it was one of these
part works, build your own Cutty Sark or HMS Victory month by month.
Conversation then went a bit flat, some of the regulars had thought they might get
an invite to a trip on the water.  :(
