There was a comedy spoof of that ad  years ago , maybe Harry Enfield or Russ Abbott,
it showed a kerb crawler driving  up behind a young woman in skimpy attire, she turns round and says "Pappa!" and he says "Nicole!"  :D
Surely 'Alas Smith & Jones' ...

As it makes me think back to when my son was much younger it has to be the latest VW ad with the baby sleeping in the back but waking up crying at every red light as the car is one of those that turns off when you stop. The driver has to keep slowing right down to try to avoid stopping before the light turns back to green. The ad reminds you to 'just think of the fuel you're saving'.

Good to see I have stimulated some debate...

QuoteYou actually watch adverts?!  :o

Erm, good point. I get annoyed at most to be honest, but its the car ones that seem to be most bearable, hence the idea to start this topic. I agree adverts are not a good thing in general though....

Ahem....I have been told an "urban myth" about the inspiration for this add campaign. MUCH ruder that even that spoof  :worried:

QuoteI just cannot get excited about 'The Cog' or the Audi advert

QuoteP.S. and it must have a good mirror for checking my lippy

We are not at home to stereotypes here Pengi  ;)

P.S That flash mob one is genius!

lol, I can see why you would like / empathise with this thebrighton, but it just makes me wonder why the driver doesn't press the button to de-activate start-stop  :D

Not really a car advert....Its the latest advert from perfume giant Dior for the fragrance called 'addict', however it features my newest favourite super Model Daphne.
She is beautiful :heart2: :heart2: :-*

The Citroen ads from a few years ago were impressive where rha car turned into a robot/transformer. The ice skating ones were genius. Shame the cars weren't as good (personal view...)
Cheers, Timmo

This was the first car advert that really stuck in my mind and it sent me scurrying off to look at 205 GTi's (didn't get one though ;)).

Peugeot 405 - Take My Breath - 1991 - UK Advert

I recall the salesman at my local Vauxhall garage letting rip about the quality of the Vauxhall ads in comparison. Then he let rip when Peugeot brought out the rather beautiful looking 406 coupe . . .
Just one Pendolino, give it to me, a beautiful train, from Italy

An animator I once worked with did a slightly modified version, which Citroen immediately got him to pull (however nothing is ever really removed on the internet :) )

My current favourite car ad is the latest one by Skoda, advertising the Yeti.

Bloke drives in an old Favorit or Felicia for a few mods so the garage staff smash it to bits, chop the roof off and drag it out with sparks coming off it.

They then give the bloke his car back, which of course is a new Yeti, but bloke thinks its his old car made better.

The older Skoda ads were good as well such as the Skoda Fabia made out of cake and the best line a car advert has ever held.

"Its a Skoda,honest"

Going back a few years, about 30, I think!

Bert Kwouk (From the films of the "Pink Panther" Peter Sellers) and the "Veritable old boot", the VW Golf dropping from the sky and merely bouncing without the expected breaking glass etc!

Regards, Peter.
