Difficult choice here because they are all lovely :heart2: :heart2: even the wacky looking 380

Would have to go with the Eurostar though
Just one Pendolino, give it to me, a beautiful train, from Italy

I always liked the one which came with Rod Hull...  :D

I know - I'll get my coat...  :-[
LNER and PKP fan in the home of the GWR!

Class 305 I used to go on as a child. Why? Because being slam-door stock you could open the window and stick yer head out and you can't on modern trains :D

Plus the slam doors themselves, much better than these pushbutton Star Trek slidey things they have now, no soul

Would have to be one of these that I travelled on a lot as a kid:

I always looked for the red line above the door/windows as that meant it was a single compartment.
If I got in one of those it felt like you was in your own private carriage!
Silly I know but its different when you're a kid...  :D
Personal motto: You don't have to be mad to be a modeller, but I find it helps!

Without a doubt I would have to say the 5BEL electric Pullman units used on the Brighton Belle services, and in the umber and cream livery! :D Can't wait to see the restoration project hit the rails again!
Male children never grow up, we just get older and our toys become more expensive!

Mine used to be The 4-Vep but with the amount of time looking at them while making them i have grown a massive liking for the 442

I always had a soft spot for the class 321s in original NSE livery.

But maybe I am just odd like that.  :laughabovepost:

Well, that's just not good enough. Some fount of all knowledge you are!   ;)

The class 421 - 4 CIG. They were comfortable and reliable.

There are so many aspects of them I miss on my daily commute; the fact the doors don't close '30 seconds prior to departure' (I have had a number of arguments with Southern that there are more than 30 second in a minute, so the doors can close and the train depart in that period of time!), and you don't have to wait for the driver to release the doors before you can get off; the fact carriage designers treated passengers as passengers and not sardines; the fact that first class (not that I use it) was denoted by more than just a bit of cloth on the headrest; the fact you don't get blasted with cold air from the air con...or deafened by the automated announcement system with its incessent bing-bong; and the fact you don't get multiple internal injuries with the train rattles across the points just south of Purley at more than about 50mph! (and breathe!)

I made the pilgrimage to the Lymington branch a couple of years ago just before they retired the 3-CIGs from the route. It reminded me of just how much I missed them!

The 304s.  Towards the end of their career you had to start getting up out of your seat two stops short because you'd sunk so deeply into them.  The 504 seats were the same and very bouncy.

Though hardly everyday, it has to be the APT-P. After that, maroon Clactons!
