Hope the baker recovers to enjoy some quality retirement time. I fear that your apple turnovers may never be as good again. :beers:

I have channel hopped through all the TV channels but.......nada, zilch, zero, nought, rien, nichts etc
They'll happily report on some Z lister getting a zit on their ugly mug but this is major news and should be granted the gravitas it deserves. A replacement baker of equivalent skill should be rushed to the scene.
I blame society ::)

@Papyrus  I can imagine how you must be feeling. Once a week, I make a 40 mile round trip to Carrick-on-Shannon, primarily to visit a coffee shop there, where they must have a small bakery in the back. They do not make their own bread, but do bake cakes and the like. The strawberry tarts are out of this world. I know both Louisa and myself would be devastated if they stopped. If any of you ever find yourselves in Carrick, I can thoroughly recommend 'Coffeys', just by the bridge over the Shannon, for coffee and maybe a light lunch. :thumbsup: I hope the baker gets back to good health.

Sounds like a wonderful place! Sadly, we've never quite managed to cross the Irish Sea, despite our love of the music and the dancing and (in my case) the black stuff. One day, perhaps...

Cheers,

Chris

@Papyrus
If you, (or any other member of the forum), ever do decide to visit 'Lovely Leitrim' let me know.  I can point out some of the sites for you including the Cavan and Leitrim Railway and of course, Coffeys.  ;)
