Quote from: Newportnobby on February 15, 2025, 11:19:52 AMFinally! 22 months after one of my sisters collapsed and died at my side my remaining sister and I have concluded all the business and her house is now sold and we can move on.
She died with no will and, although we knew she had a husband at one point, she never said whether she'd had a divorce so the Grant of Probate took absolute ages to come about. My remaining sister also had to provide a marriage certificate from the 1970s to prove she had changed her name from our familial one. That raked up bad memories for her.
It's been a  :poop: couple of years as the year before that our Mum passed away in hospital a week after falling and breaking a hip

Glad that is finally sorted for you both. Rebecca and I have done our LPAs and wills, much to my 31 year-old son's apparent horror, but when we sat him down and talked it through he totally got it and is now very relieved we've done it. Poor sod is our executor, but I intend to be hanging about for at least another 30 years as it is.

Broke a number 9 guitar string yesterday so I now have enough spare handrail wire for the next few years.

I had a similar issue with a G-string a few years back. I wasn't into railway modelling then though so I had no idea I could make handrails out of it.

Finally, after a couple of years putting up with slower and slower broadband, I persuaded Open Reach to investigate. Yep there was a fault. You now have 50Mbps at the property boundary.

So why was i getting 18Mbps at the computer.

Hmmm. Lets take a look, the tech man says.
I'm getting 30Mbps without the router connected and 20Mbps connected. You need a new router.
But don't worry. In a couple of years you will get Full Fibre.

Router arrived yesterday. I now have 50 Mbps and have now to spend what will feel like days setting every wireless connection to the new router code. Happy Days!

PS next up is negotiating a price drop...

Hi

Just change the router SSID to the same as your old one was with the same password. You then won't need to update all your devices,

Personally I use a Mesh network so never use the SSID provided by the router.

Strangely, I'm not surprised
