Wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction to some British low relief buildings other than card. I have tried some of the card models and quite frankly realise I'm no good at them.

I have searched about and found some by Graham Farish and also the Lyddle End models but wondered if there were any others.

I had some buildings (not low relief) that came as part of the layout when originally purchased, true they are mainly Continental style, but with a push can be used in certain places. These seem to be made of resin or similar. Not sure if they are railway buildings or for wargames etc.

Anyway, if anyone can help would be most grateful

Thanks for the replies.

As I said I was aware of the Graham Farish models but  the cast-in-stone are new to me and look very interesting.

Would like to get some domestic models i.e houses etc as well if there are any.

Will look into both sets in more detail shortly.

:thankyousign:

Don't give up - you'll get better with practice and experience and then you'll be able to design and build your own so won't be limited to ready-to-plonk stuff that you see, rather boring and repetatively, on lots of layouts.

Scalescenes do a low relief warehouse building kit that is free. Download that and have a bash. And to help you out it is featured as a 'how to build' article in the forthcoming N'spirations issue #9 (due very soon).

I've built a couple of the cast ten commandments ones, likewise some of the other cast low relief stuff. In many ways they are harder to build well than the card ones because they are solid. They can look wonderful but you need to pay attention to things like stone and brickwork, and especially making the windows look right.

If you get on with plastic kits then Dornplas do some cheap but basic low relief terraced house kits. It's also possible to saw the kestrel houses in half  although the brick representation on them is very poor so they are best painted as if stone.

Hi,

I've used this seller  a good few times  the  prodcuts are excellent  cast from  Hydrocal,    lots of  abutments &  retaining  walls which   can  be  used for  low relief  detailing  he also   at one time listed  a few  low relief items,   send him  a message for more details of low relief buildings.

The castings take  woodstains /pigments  easily to  alllow colour to be built up  ;)
