Peco Tankers !

Two tankers and a tanker kit have arrived, I am now looking in more detail and find the tank itself has too much detail (rivets, straps and that centre seam)

Although this is a Express Dairy (SR) Tanker it shows smooth tank and is the United ones.



Also the brake levers are different.

So I will smooth the tank from the kit and use an old chassis for donor parts.

I would not mind replacing the ladders too (anyone do brass photo-etched versions)

Ratio   do  etched  brass  ladders comparing them  to   the  ones  on  Dapol's  6 wheel  tanker are a good replacement.

I have two 6 wheelers which I have heavily weathered  (actually-nearly black) as this is usually how they ran in my period 59-63. Often the six wheelers would be added to local passenger trains en-route fromcountry areas to main stations.

Not sure but it could be because the  Picture of the tanker  is over 800   pixels wide the page  is ok  here   though.
