LMS Patriot Project on eBay

Just a quick FYI: The LMS Patriot Project is selling items on eBay to raise money for the project.... At £500K just for the boiler they'll have to sell a lot!

For Southern Railway fans there's an edition of Southern Railway Magazine currently on offer.

I'm not associated with the project (yet  ), just think it's a fantastic cause

I just hope I am still alive to see the Patriot Project finished,  hope they don't shove one of those GWR style boilers on the thing, IMO Stanier destroyed the look of the Patriots and Scots with that rotten boiler.

He was probably more concerned with making them run better, which he did.

He certainly improved them but I cant help feeling he wanted to leave his marque on everything, plenty of old videos showing the Parallel boiler locos cracking 80-90mph.

as far as i know they are building it in un-rebuilt form 

they may try to do things like improving the blastpipe and the grates to get better steaming
but this is just a guess

Thanks for that Dave, IMO they were beautiful looking true British looking locos in their original state.

The The Derbyshire Yeomanry and a few other unrebuilt Patriots were regular visitors on our local line when I was a kid so I guess thats why I like them so much.
