Thought I would check out diesel locos for sale on Hattons website, down again  the other online retailers must be rubbing their hands together to the sound of their tills dinging  :claphappy:

You would think Hattons would have sorted out their problems by now but it seems every time I want to access their website it is out of action  :confused2:

Same here, mum and dad were over and I tried to order some littles for mum but no luck

It is a real shame that modern technology has let them down

Looking at your posting times fellows, 4.55 & 5.27 AM UK time, it could be a case that Hatton,s may have been involved in IT systems maintaince. Hatton's website is fine now.

Yep, no problem now. And to be fair I've never found it down, so not sure why the "Again !!!" is necessary in the subject header. When was it last down?

since their 'upgrade' the site seems to be regularly playing up.
hopefully they will get it sorted, but the latest problem I get at work is that our system says their certificate is not genuine, probably a problem with our filters, but when I PMd Hattons about it I did not, unusually, get any reply.

have also recently found that if you remove more than one item from the cart [ie when SWMBO is looking] the whole lot disappears.

I also noticed on my last orders that an item had been added, but when the two orders were merged it did disappear again and I got what I had ordered.

before the 'upgrade' I found their system 100%.

Out of the last 8 times I have logged onto Hattons it has been out of action 5 times, there have been several threads posted on this forum regarding their website problems.

I am like everyone else we want to see this great retailer fix their website problems as we all have a few quid to spend there.

I have to admit that I've never had a problem, either down or in ordering, with the Hattons website, so for me it's always been 100% reliable.  :P  :D

I have seen the business about 'certiificates' being out of date with other websites (not Hattons) but was told that is usually more a problem with your own computer/system/service.

Certificates are provided by the web site, and verified within your web browser. An invalid certificate is a big red warning sign that there is a problem and the content might be intercepted. There is nobody else in the middle of that process.

An out of date one is usually a screw up by the web site owner (they don't expire that often and like every job that is only done rarely it gets forgotten). It can also be caused by having the date wrong on your PC. Again there is nobody else in the middle of that process, it's nothing to do with "your service".
