A great character actor, Corrie, keeping up appearances and Hearbeat NYMR,
sadly missed.

I remember him on the last two, but not Coronation Street.  Always a fun character.  RIP.

Dock Shunter

Sad news indeed. :(
A much loved and funny character in every part he played.
For me he will always be best remembered as Eddie Yates from Coronation St in the 70s along with Stan Ogden...... ;D

'Tis indeed sad tidings - I remember him most as Onslow in K.U.A. and have been modelling the look ever since :-[

As Onslow would have said "Oh niiice"  :(

RIP Geoffrey, a great actor and thoroughly decent human being.

RIP legend. Thanks for the laughs!

I remember playing darts with him when he was appearing in "A play for today" in 1972 or 3. A fine sportsman and raconteur. A very unassuming guy who was a lot of fun. Sadly missed.

The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Well Malc I'm not at all envious of you getting the chance to meet him in person  >:( :smiley-laughing:

I worked at Pebble Mill from it's opening in 1971 until 1985. I was an engineer, so we didn't get to mix with the "stars". However, sometimes they came an mixed with us. Geoff Hughes was one. We were playing darts in the bar and he wandered over. He was in a play called "An arrow for Little Audrey" (I think) and he said he needed the practice. Nice bloke. Sadly missed.
