Oh, dear. The tale of woe just goes on................
George has now got an infection in his ankle so has to go back to the hospital from the rehabilitation centre to have the infection flushed out. The hope is it has not attached itself to the metal pin in his ankle. :worried:
It does delay the fight at Chez Bealman as to who gets the one pair of crutches Anne and George have between them. I know who my money is on...........

In the UK, you get tested for MRSA before you can be admitted to hospital, and then they make sure you actually do have it when you get kicked out ::)

What's MSRA? All I got tested for was to make sure I didn't have any VBs on me :worried:

6am here. Still waiting for hospital transfer  >:(

Bealman update.

Well, I got transferred to Wollongong Hilton Private Hospital at 7am yesterday morning and had a good (ish) day. Highlight of which being a visit from Mrs B and her brother (who brought a couple of VBs with him - what a champion).

I am being treated with multiple lashings of antibiotics delivered by IV drip.

Mrs B has twenty three stitches in her knee but reckons she is getting around alright. She is using my old crutches but didn't need them for the visit.

This post has taken me a while to do as I keep getting interrupted by nurses sticking me and putting new canulas in, along with huge helpings of pills.

Oh, almost forgot, the back, which is the primary reason I was taken off the streets three weeks ago is still there, albeit not the centre of attention anymore.

Otherwise, everything is fine, just fine. :D

Oh, here's the view from Chez Hospital(Pacific Ocean in left distance):

Take it easy George. It sounds like you are being well looked after so hopefully recovery is the next stage.

Just like me last August/September. Take care of yourself and direct lashings of affability towards the staff. And a tin of the Australian version of 'Quality Street'.

You have a better view than I had.

With the very best of good wishes.

Apart from the complete lack of dignity in hospitals, the next biggest lack is sleep. There's something about patients sleeping that nurses find worrying so, just when you've dropped off, they wake you up with "It's time to take your pills" or "we have to take your blood pressure" >:D .
Oh no, you're not allowed any much needed sleep

All the best George, hopefully you won't be there long.
cheers

That's exactly right, Mick. Happens all the time. You just get comfy and drop off, then a voice at the door (which I always leave open, goes:"Knock knock! Sorry!"

So you drag yourself upright and mutter, "That's ok" when in fact it's anything but.

I don't say it's OK. I moan about it but, then again. I'm a whingeing Pom :D

Nice view. The old penal colony is starting to look quite civilised, isn't it??

News from Papyrus Calamity Corner, Mrs P has had her broken arm fixed (see Unhappy thread, 19th March) by a very nice young German sawbones. She now has a piece of Meccano in her arm (she was told she had the very expensive, Rolls-Royce version!). The operation took 2 hours, mainly because the bones weren't quite aligned and they had to juggle them a bit, but she got to watch the operation on a monitor! Wouldn't be my idea of relaxing telly, but each to their own.

Good to hear that Mrs B is up and about again. Hope you will be out of there soon and back to keeping the bus stop tidy.

All the best,

Chris
