I expressed interest in one each of the four liveries of full brakes and one of each livery of the rebuilt buffet (E versions).
And I've started saving my pennies!

Just had an e mail from Dapol to say the Buffet and the BG are due to enter production shortly and are expected with Dapol in Feb 2027. Then those who have expressed an interest will be contacted within the next 10 working days to confirm purchase of the ones you selected* and no payment will be taken until they're ready for despatch
*If you haven't heard within this timeframe please contact Dapol.

Once all confirmed orders have been despatched, any remaining stock will be sold through Dapol's website

Hi,

Following on from the email sent out by our marketing manager Neil, if you do wish to proceed with your expression of interest, please respond to this email on accounts@dapol.co.uk with the delivery address you would like the items sent to.

 

We will then raise your sales order to get these items reserved for you.

 

When you receive the sales order confirmation, please make sure you check the items and the quantities against each product as some customers have done multiple expressions of interest and we want to get this correct now so that no one misses out.

 

No payment will be required until these are ready to dispatch, hopefully February 2027.

 

If you have received this email and you have changed your mind about this purchase, please do let us know asap.

 

If you do not respond within the next 10 days, your expression of interest will be automatically removed.

 

We look forward to hearing from you.

I don't think that is our fault if we don't know or remember. However the second email says that they will raise a sales order once we provide a delivery address. Presumably that will tell us what they plan to send us, and hopefully we will be able to modify our requirements.

This is what I'm banking on too. I didn't remember I had expressed an interest in these although I know I did in the LMS coaches that were offered shortly after. I wouldn't have had the need for the buffet so must be the bg and guessing it was the blue one

Anyway, it's great that Dapol are progressing with these and they'll soon feature on our layouts. Hopefully the LMS suburbans won't be far behind.

I sent an email to a friendly lady called Andrea Bowen (Personnel & Accounts Manager). Her reply was most helpful;

"You give me your address, I will make up the sales order then you can check it, add or subtract from it."

Sounds good.

Just had confirmation of my order from Andrea and somehow my EoI had been duplicated so I've requested a new confirmation. Please ensure you check yours carefully when you get it.
(It could be me at fault but I don't recall duplicating it)

So the email with my order arrived today. It turns out that I only ordered one unit - a maroon BG. Price of £39.95 – not too bad. But that includes £6.66 VAT which, as an Aussie resident should not apply. Then to "carriage" – FOURTY OF YOUR BRITISH POUNDS! – Good grief! That's a total of £80, when it should be more like £52, when compared with Rails & TMC international charges. At that price it becomes an elective purchase and I have elected to cancel. Nobody needs another full brake at that price. I hope that they come up with a better deal when we get to a couple of rakes of Stanier non-corriodors in the near future.

£40 courier? Wow. DHL at a guess from a parcel price comparison site.

Royal Mail is quoting less than half that for ~7 day, tracked delivery.

Perhaps worthy of an email to Dapol asking is they could use a different courier? Or save the model until the Staniers arrive?

Hmmm - mine was calculated OK correctly with no VAT added (I am in Japan - and will end up paying Japan VAT on the import). As to the shipping charge that seems to be fixed - I have half a dozen vehicles on the order but the shipping was also 39.95....  it seems to be a flat rate ( although based on recent experiences somewhat more than Kernow and Rails' what appears to be flat rate - its similar to Harburns flat rate).

I am going to ask them their UK domestic shipping cost to compare to international as there is a crossover calculation of the differecne in paying UK VAT vs Japanese VAT where I then pick up the coaches from a family address on a UK trip ( like I am just now and have picked up a bunch of stuff I bought from Ebay since that makes such a hash of international shipping... ).

Hi Stuart,

just been e-mailing with Andrea@Dapol to make a small adjust to my order and questioning the shipping and the pricing:

"As we do not know the total weight yet we will say the order will probably come out with DHL as Royal Mail it has to be under 2kg"

So I think it would be worth you asking Dapol to ship to you with Royal Mail (which , for example, woudl be 13 quid if it were Rails),
