Has anybody found a reasonable alternative in perhaps the vallejo paint range for LNER green?

Phoenix do Doncaster & Darlington greens, I cannot tell the difference!

Good luck with your quest!

I have Haresnape's "Railway Liveries 1923-1947" and it has a colour plate of LNE 1/C10 standard grass green. Comparing to the Vallejo colour card, 70.891 Intermediate Green might be a starting point. Maybe with a touch more yellow.

The only LNER green I've painted with is Precision Darlington Green that I bought back in the early 1990s.
It's a long thread about building a Sentinel railcar kit, but there are some of my pictures as well as some from east anglian.

If you have access to the current Phoenix Precision range of enamels I would look at P50 Doncaster Green (seems too dark compared to the colour patch in Haresnape) and P51 Darlington Green (seems too blue compared to colour patch in Haresnape).

I'm not sure RAL numbers will help because I read that "RAL was not heard of in Britain until the late 1960s."

Thank you for the replies, looking at my original post I realise it's rubbish. What I should have put in it was that I know Railmatch do an acrylic green but I have fairly good access to vallejo so wondered if their was anything suitable. Sorry for wasting your time gents I might try Phoenix enamel. Thanks again
