Orders can now be placed for a KATO Freightliner Class 66 used in Germany. I would love to have one of these DCC locos with sound on my German layout to remind me of those in the UK.
Unfortunately the minimum passable radius of the Class 66 is 228 mm.  The trouble is that on my mainline I have a Faller 222598 curved viaduct. The outer radius is 245 mm, the inner radius is 172 mm.
Do you think I would still have running problems when limiting it to the outer track?
Thanks,
Allan (in Finland)

Are you sure those radius measurements are correct?  172mm seems very tight.

Usually Faller would make their kits compatible with Minitrix and Fleischmann tracks where R1 = 195mm and R2 = 228mm.

You may find that the 66 is capable of running around 195mm radius but with too much overhang on the couplings.

[edit] Ah I think your measurements of 245mm and 172mm  are the inside and outside of the viaduct itself, not the track radius?   I see DM Toys and other shops quote those measurements.  Unfortunately the instruction sheet for 222598 doesn't show the track radius that the kit is designed to fit, but I'm sure it'll be for 195mm and 228mm as I mentioned above.
