I'm not normally one to be easily impressed, but I found this just astounding!!  :o

OPERATIONAL V-12 DIESEL ENGINE THAT FITS IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND

http://www.wimp.com/tiniestengine/

This is not CNC technology; this guy made everything at home on his lathe and drill press. Took 1220 hours to make the 261 pieces. Note the end-loaded crankshaft into the block, 12 individual cylinder heads, TINY rods and pistons, dual "underhead" cams with pushrods to rockers in the heads. Amazing!

Fascinating and to think I have problems with a Sentinel kit.

Here in Newcastle nsw at last years model train and hobby show a guy had an engine I think was a v16 built into a model of a dozen which was about the size of a kids tonka truck and it sounded brilliant. Hats off to those who can do such awesome stuff in such a small scale

Magnificent achievement, well impressed. Mind you, he needs to adjust the tappets, it sounded a bit like my old Vauxhall VX4/90.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.
