On the subject of a class 31 I remember them on the Moorgate Widened Lines. On outer suburban stock and fantastic videos Mick

Thanks again to @mk1gtstu and @Bob G for selling me a blue class 31 and blue suburban coaches for me to run the sort of stopping service run out of Kings Cross in my spotting days

I also ran my class 08 again but with a rake of 23 mineral wagons + brake van. Apologies for the wobbly finish to the film but the phone refused to turn off the video while I was frantically stabbing at the button :doh:

I ran the same train with a weathered class 20 and then a weathered J39 but it was getting a bit rowdy in the room so I didn't bother taking a film
Great stuff Mick @Newportnobby great to see the Class 31 running on a superb looking layout  :thumbsup:

No alcohol is allowed in the clubrooms, which are out in the Boondocks anyway so everyone has to drive there. The rowdiness was from upstairs where a vacuum cleaner was being tested and someone was using a circular saw, hopefully not on each other :worried:  ;)

@martyn I think I know what you meant ;)
What you remember is probably what I remember and I wanted to recreate that memory.
Looks like I got it about right

Mick has fallen into the common trap of putting the brake-seconds (BS) at either end of the train. He clearly needs encouraging to buy a couple more seconds (S) and have the BS towards the middle of the train: S S S BS S S or S S S BS S S S.

The outer suburban services typically had at least one of the two BS inset from the end of the train by one coach. Using the Farish coaches, this would give you S BS S S S BS, or S BS S S S BS S.

More formations on the Accurascale website.

For a more prototypical train Mick, I'd suggest moving one of the BS in by a coach, thus: S BS S S BS, or leaving one out: S BS S S.

Thanks, Steven.
Looks like the last option is best as these coaches are rare as rocking horse poo!
